Can you believe it? Fall will be here in less than a week!
So long to that brutal West Texas heat (we hope…)!
The beginning of Fall is the perfect time to add some curb appeal to your home. Summer is over, the kids are back in school, and before you know it, you’ll be busy Christmas shopping! In fact, creating Fall curb appeal to your home isn’t difficult at all. So clear a Saturday afternoon and take on these tips!
How To Create Fall Curb Appeal:
1. Sweep and dust-Something as simply as sweeping the porch can make all the difference in the initial look of your home. Take it one step further and dust around windows and doors. Making this a weekly chore will not only create, but also maintain, the curb appeal of your home.
2. Consider a new look for your door-The front door is the first thing someone sees when approaching your home. Why not change it up a bit? First, scrape and sand the door until the surface is even. Next, wipe down the door with a damp cloth and allow it to dry. Then, prime and paint (make it easy on yourself and choose a paint with an included primer). Finally, replace your hardware after the paint has completely dried.
3. Colorful chrysanthemums-Bright mums make your home feel warm and inviting (think fall colors like red, yellow and orange). Mulch mums with shredded leaves, pine straw, or wood chips to prevent rot. Potted mums also need to be watered regularly to look full and healthy. You can also store mums in the garage through the winter and reuse them in the spring!
4. Fall decor-Hanging a wreath on the door or laying a fall doormat down gives your home a taste of the season! And don’t forget the pumpkins!
