A small powder room is great for visitors, even a small guest bath, but a small master bath is just inconvenient. But, don’t worry, there’s way to deal with a small bathroom. Your small bathroom can be designed to look and function just as well as the rest of your house.

With a few little tricks, you can help a tight, tiny space can visually GROW.

Every bathroom must include certain basics: sink and faucet, shower or bathing area and the toilet. No matter how small the space, these time must be shoved in there.

#1 Keep everything the same tone/ color/value as much as you can
Don’t have dark walls and light tile (or vice versa), because this will chop up the space, visually, and make it seem smaller.

#2 Paint the ceiling the color of the walls
This is a great idea especially if your ceiling is angled or has some oddly shaped low areas. Painting everything a unifying color will make those unusual shapes disappear, and the space will visually expand. It cuts down on the number of transitions and planes intersecting, therefore creating a cleaner, more expansive upper space in the room

#3 Blend the tile color and wall color
Blending the tile to the wall doubles your space in a small bathroom.

#4 Take the tile in the shower up to the ceiling
This will also make for fewer transitions for a larger feel

#5 Use clear glass in your shower
Textured glass can make a space feel like it has an extra wall and serves as a visual barrier in the room.

#6 Think BIG with mirrors
Nothing make a small area feel grander than big mirrors. Invest in a mirror that reaches the ceiling trimmed out in wood or tile. Just stay away from double mirrors over side by side sinks. This will chop up your space.
