The plumbing within your home can be a mess during the holidays.
The kids are out of school, the guests are a few days away from bombarding your home, and you’re almost done decorating the home for Christmas. But what isn’t on your mind is the inner workings of your home. This is the busiest time of year for plumbers. We take emergency phone calls of exploding toilets to leaks to odorous drains. So before the holidays come into full swing, take a second and check your home to make sure it’s ready for the season.
Insure your toilets are working properly. Check under the lid to see if anything may be disconnected or unusual.
Check your drains. If you run the water for a little and it begins to smell, most likely it means you have a clogged drain. A simple Drano run to the store will fix it easily.
The water builds up on your bathroom sink. Again a product such as Drano will fix this problem in no time.
Your toilet is running. This can mean a couple of things but most likely it is the stopper and chain. If you open the lid, simply replace the stopper by taking it out. Then visiting your local hardware store to find the exact match. Replace. Your toilet is no longer running. Keep in mind you can shorten or lengthen the chain depending on how much your toilet is needing. The faster you fix this issue, the more money you save.
If you find something wrong with your home, make sure to do a little reach online to see if you might be able to fix the issue yourself.
And of course we, here at D&D are always happy to help! Give us a call!
Sincerely,
