1. Set your thermostat as close to the outdoor temperature as possible. The closer the temperatures the lower your bill will be.
2. Avoid setting your thermostat lower than normal when initially trying to cool the house. This will result in more energy use and excessive cooling.
3. If you have a window air conditioning unit consider placing a fan next to it to better distribute the cool air throughout your home.
4. Avoid placing appliances such as lamps and Televisions near thermostat. This can throw off the temperature reader.
5. If your air conditioning unit is getting old, consider replacing it with a more energy efficient unit. This will be sure to save you!
