Pumpkin PulpOctober is here! Let the pumpkin carving begin! But remember … don’t throw your pumpkin pulp down the drain!

D&D Plumbing has become a common visitor to homes during the Halloween season due to kitchen sink drain clogs. Before you start cutting open that pumpkin, think twice about where the pulp is going. Take a look at our tricks and treats to see what you can do to avoid scary stopped up drains and pulp-clogged garage disposals!

The facts. Once you have pushed those pumpkin “guts” down the drain the sticky and stringy pulp begins to harden creating all sorts of nightmares in your drain system. It may not cause an immediate clog, but over time your drain system will start to sound like you have ghosts in the house and stop working all together.

How to prevent a drain clog disaster. Try using a newspaper when carving your pumpkin. This makes it easy for disposal. This also makes it easy to pick out the seeds to be used as a yummy treat.

So if you start hearing those spooky sounds coming from within your piping system, give D&D a call, we’ll be ready!
