Putting Pumpkin Down The Drain Is NOT A Good Idea

Now is the prime time to pick out your Halloween costume, eat endless amounts of candy, and the best part…carve pumpkins! Carving pumpkins may be a fun-filled family activity, but there is someone who does not look forward to the seasonal tradition: your drain.

While your drain is not a “someone”, it still deserves some TLC, and pumpkins and their contents can cause serious damage. Here, let’s talk about why putting pumpkin down the drain is NOT a good idea.

Avoid A Scary Clog

Seeds and slimy pumpkin guts can harden and clog your pipes. Use a newspaper or bowl to set aside all of your pumpkin trash while you work on your masterpiece, and toss it in the garbage when you’re done to avoid any pumpkin down the drain!

Make A Seed Snack

Save and clean the seeds, sprinkle some salt and olive oil over them, and bake for 25 minutes at 325 degrees. Yum!
