With the seasons changing and the weather getting cooler, you should be winterizing your home. By doing so, we can save YOU money on your energy bills! Check out our list of helpful to-do’s below:

Winterize your home

Seal Ductwork – If the ductwork within your home is not seal correctly you could be loosing serious money when it comes to your energy bill! Make sure all your ducts are working perfectly to keep that cool air out the the warm air in. As an added bonus, these ducts keep your air cleaner within your home! Inserting and fixing ducts can be done by any home owner, call a specialist if needed.

Install Storm Windows or Plastic – Windows are the worst insulator in your entire home! They account for up to 45% of your insulating capacity. In order to prepare for the season insert storm windows to save you money. Or if you do not have storm windows, insert window plastic to keep that cold air out!

Cover The Drafts – Sometimes your windows can develop cracks. Make sure to seal windows caulk as well as door sweeps to keep that warm air in!

Seal That Attic – As we all know warm air rises so make sure to seal your attic to ensure that warm air doesn’t escape you home. To check, enter your attic and look for insulation along the floor. If you can see raptors, you may need to add another layer. Also…check for mold and leaks to insure your insulation is working optimally.
